Adveniat Youth Hostel – House Guidelines.
General Information:
The Adveniat Youth Hostel wants to be a place where people can meet and share. All of our guests are invite to adopt an attitude of openness and respect with regard to other persons present in the hostel. Your stay will be all the more enjoyable as you yourself are sociable to other guests at the hostel.
Unfortunately, the hostel closes from November 1-30 (we also need to get some rest!). Out of prudence, we do not welcome minors unaccompanied by one or several adults.
As you have now grown accustomed, it is forbidden to smoke anywhere in the hostel, including the bedrooms. You can use the garden with its terraces for this purpose. It is strictly forbidden to tamper with the smoke detectors.
Alcohol (including beer) and drugs are forbidden anywhere in the hostel, including the grounds. The experiences that we are encouraging you to engage in are much stronger and more appealing! Anyone caught bringing alcohol or drugs into the hostel will be expelled immediately and will receive no reimbursement.
The security of our guests is a major concern for us. So, it is also strictly forbidden to bring anyone into the hostel who has not been properly registered. Anyone who brings an unauthorized person into the hostel will be immediately expelled and will receive no reimbursement.
Attention: common areas of the hostel, corridors on the bedroom floors as well as the exterior of the hostel are under video surveillance.
Make sure not to forget anything when you leave us: any personal item which you may forget at the hostel will not be sent to you unless you ask us and at your own expense.
Groups :
Teachers and group leaders remain responsable of the behaviour of any and all members of their group. There is no way for them to discharge that reponsibility on the Youth Hostel staff.
The Adveniat Youth Hostel staff keep the right to enter in any bedroom of which the inhabitants would disturb in any way other guests of the hostel..
Policy for reservations and cancellations.
For individuals (1 to 6 persons), Adveniat Youth Hostel accepts reservations only for a maximum of 5 consecutive nights. We cannot house you beyond 5 reserved nights unless there is space available at departure time. This limit does not apply to groups.
To better serve you, group reservations (7 or more persons) cannot be made through our Internet site, but must be made by mail, email, fax, or telephone.
As for reservations, the Adveniat Youth Hostel offers an option valid for 7 days if the reservation is made more than 15 days in advance, and one valid for two days, should the opposite occur. This option does not become a confirmed reservation until you send a down-payment of 25% of the total cost of the reserved stay. If the down-payment is not received within 7 days of exercising this option (two days if one is less than 15 days from one’s stay), the option will be cancelled.
In the case of a cancellation of a reservation, we will be able to reimburse you all or part of the down-payment according to the following rules:
- 100 % of the down-payment will be reimbursed up to three months before the date of arrival;
- Between 3 months and one month before the date of arrival, 50% of the down-payment will be reimbursed;
- Less than one month before the date of arrival, no reimbursement will be made.
Adveniat Youth Hostel reserves the right to mix in one room members of two different groups. If a group decides to refuse this mixing together, it will have to pay for the beds which remain unoccupied.
As for groups, room assignments of members of a group rest in the hands of Adveniat Youth Hostel. These assignments will be made known only upon arrival.
If a group arrives with fewer members than announced at the time of the reservation, the group will be billed for the number of nights of the missing members.
If persons leave the hostel earlier than foreseen and therefore stay fewer nights than they had paid for, no reimbursement will be made.
If one or more persons do not arrive on the date foreseen, their stay will be billed and the reservation cancelled.
The balance of one’s payment is due on arrival.
Welcome:
The Adveniat Youth Hostel is affiliated with La Ligue Française pour les Auberges de Jeunesse (L.F.A.J.). Guests MUST show a card indicating they belong to the international youth hostel organization; this card gives one access, for one year, to all the youth hostels in France and throughout the world.
You can obtain a membership card, valid for one year, before your trip (see http://www.auberges-de-jeunesse.com) o r buy one at the reception desk of the Adveniat Youuth Hostel. Up to a maximum of three consecutive nights, you can purchase a membership card valid for one night only.
At your arrival and registration, everyone will be asked for a valid piece of identity (driver’s license and student identity cards will not be accepted). You will be given a magnetic card that gives access to the front door of the hostel, the elevator, and the door to your room. Please drop this magnetic card off when you leave.

Breakfast is served from 7:30-9:30 A.M. Rooms must be vacated by 10 A.M.
The kitchen is open from 4-10 P.M. The T.V. room is open from 4 P.M. to midnight. |
The Assumptionist community prays every day in the hostel chapel and you are cordially invited to join them :
The chapel will always remain open to give you an opportunity for prayer, recollection, and time alone. |
Rooms.
To give our maintenance staff time to get your rooms into impeccable shape clean, they will not be ready until 4 P.M. (a baggage room is available free of charge).
Our rooms are mixed.
However we offer groups the possibility of requesting a separation of men and women at the time of reservation.
Please do not leave windows open when the heat is on. Could you please turn off the lights when you leave your room. The world (and our electric bill) will be better off!
It is forbidden to cook in the bedrooms. It is also forbidden to plug in objects needing high voltage (kettles, hot-plates, heating coils, etc.).
Kindly undo your beds when leaving: fold the blankets and sheets and leave them on your bed.
Likewise, kindly respect guests in your room and elsewhere in the hostel who are trying to sleep. The lounge and the dining room are available to you if you want to stay up.
We ask that you try not to do damage to the furniture in your rooms and elsewhere in the hostel. Those who come after you will be grateful!
Kitchen.
A furnished kitchen is available to our guests from 4-10 P.M.
Everyone is asked to wash and put away whatever utensils he has used. Everyone is likewise asked to clean up after using the facilities.
A refrigerator, with separate compartments, is available for guests to store perishable items. Please close with a lock the compartment you use. Locks are on sale at the reception desk. Any compartment that is not locked will be emptied and its contents thrown out when the refrigerator is cleaned at night.
